What is NO RUST™ ?

NO RUST™ is a brownish reacting liquid primer which chemically reacts with non-rusted as well as rusted surface in order to convert adamantly adhered rust (wherever applicable) into an organ-o-complex compound, resulting in formation of a stable, non-porous and moisture repellant layer of good mechanical stability, abrasion resistance, good bond strength and excellent anti-corrosive properties.

How is NO RUST™ different than a rust remover?

Rather than removing rust, (wherever applicable) NO RUST™ mixes chemically with rust to create a black inert substance that can be painted over, transforming the existence of any rust and preventing further corrosion.

What objects can I use NO RUST™ on?

NO RUST™ can be used on any non-rusted rusty iron or steel object. It can be used upon any non-rusted as well as adamantly adhered rusted surface such as Grills, Gates, TMT Bars, Rods, MS Water Reservoirs, Posts, Structure, Wires, Nails, Nut-Bolts, Automotive Panels, Vehicles, Trailers, Sheet Metals, Fences, Iron Railings, Staircases, Metal Signage, Metal Boards, Machinery, Plants, Pipelines, Tools, Equipment, Cast Iron, to name just a few. It will not work on aluminum, copper, stainless steel or galvanized metal.

How do I prepare the surface rusted for application of NO RUST™ ?

Good surface preparation will enable the NO RUST™ to work effectively and leads to a high quality end result. Remove large rusted scale particles with a stiff bristled brush or hammer, wherever required. The object of this step is to get any loose or flaking rust off as it does not provide a stable surface. It is to be ensured that all the rust is not removed (this defeats the purpose of using NO RUST™) as NO RUST™ chemically bonds to the rust and seals it in. NO RUST™ cannot penetrate dirt, grease or oil, so clean and degrease the surface first, then let it dry. This step ensures that other surface contaminants will not interfere with the reaction of NO RUST™ on the rusted surface. If the surface is subject to salt water spray for deicing salts, rinse the surface thoroughly with water, and allow it to dry prior to applying NO RUST™.

Why do we say RUST is GOOD where NO RUST™ is used ?

As NO RUST™ converts adamantly adhered rusted surface into an organ-o-complex compound resulting in formation of stable, non-porous and moisture repellant layer of good mechanical stability, abrasion resistance, good bond strength and excellent anti-corrosive properties -Thus converting rust into an useful compound!

How is NO RUST™ applied?

For best results, apply NO RUST™ with a brush, roller or by dipping the rusted metal into NO RUST™. Use a brush for smaller applications and a roller for larger surfaces. It can also be sprayed on, but we recommend using an airless sprayer if spray painting is done.

Should NO RUST™ be thinned or diluted?

NO RUST™ should not be thinned or diluted and should be applied as it comes out of the bottle, after being properly shaken or stirred.

How NO RUST™ protects rusted steel from metal loss incurred due to surface preparation as in case of other conventional methods ?

NO RUST™ is applied directly upon rusted surface and is the only alternative and innovative replacement to costly conventional method of de-rusting and surface profile preparation by Sand Blasting, Grit Blasting, Copper Slag Blasting, Glass Bit Blasting or any other type of blasting procedure, which is not only very costly and time consuming, but also creates considerable metal loss.

Why is NO RUST™ very cost effective and the only best alternative in comparison to other conventional methods for protection from rusting and corrosion damage ?

Cost of Blasting of any kind is very high compared to application of NO RUST™. Even application of primer is eliminated wherever NO RUST™ is used as NO RUST™ itself is a reacting Primer; thereby reducing cost to further extent. Further due to no metal loss and conversion of rust into an useful compound, NO RUST™ is the one and only cost effective solution.

Is it necessary to paint over NO RUST™ ?

Although NO RUST™ can be used without painting or applying any top coat for Re-bars / TMT Bars / Deformed Bars prior to embedding the same into concrete after completion of curing period (24 hours), but as NO RUST™ is a reacting Primer and if your surface is exposed to the outdoor elements, we highly recommend applying two coats of a quality oil-based paint over NO RUST™ after completion of curing period ( 24 hours ) and only after rinsing the surface thoroughly with water and allowing the same to dry. It will definitely extend the protective qualities of the surface from adverse weather conditions including rain, salt, mist and direct sunlight.

Why is it recommended to rinse the surface treated with NO RUST™ after curing with clean water prior to application of top coats?

It is recommended to rinse the surface treated with NO RUST™ after curing prior to application of top in order to ensure that no un-reacted residual chemicals are left behind, which may interfere with the top coat and resist from giving best results.

What type of paint should I use to cover the NO RUST™?

Use oil based or epoxy paints to paint over NO RUST™. Do not use Latex or water based paints.

What is the coverage of NO RUST™ ?

One Kg of NO RUST™ can treat 150 Sq. Ft. of rusted surface under controlled conditions.

How many coats of NO RUST™ should I apply?

Many applications require one coat when coated properly. A second coat may be applied to assure complete coverage and conversion.

How long does it take NO RUST™ to dry?

NO RUST™ will dry to the touch in approximately 20 minutes. Wait for 24 hours to allow for curing. When applying oil-based top coat, rinse the treated and cured surface (with NO RUST™ ) with water and wait for 48 hours prior to application of paint coat.

How should I clean my application equipment after applying NO RUST™?

Simply use soap and water for clean-up.

Can I use NO RUST™ on my Metal Stove, Engine, Boiler, or any other heated surface?

No, NO RUST™ is not heat resistant and should not be used on any surface that will be heated.

Can NO RUST™ be used on galvanized steel?

No, application of NO RUST™ upon galvanised steel shall not be effective

Can NO RUST™ be used inside a MS Tank?

No, we do not recommend using NO RUST™ inside a MS Tank, but it is commonly used on the outside of large Tanks.

At what temperature can I apply NO RUST™?

It’s best to avoid applying NO RUST™ in direct sunlight or under very damp conditions.

Can I use leftover NO RUST™ after I’ve poured it out of the bottle?

No, once it’s been exposed and used, it should not be returned to the bottle with any unused liquid to avoid contamination.

What protective equipment is required?

It is mild, but like with all chemicals (paint included), we recommend exercising caution and using gloves and goggles in order to avoid direct contact with skin and eyes.

How should I dispose of any unused NO RUST™?

Contact your local regulatory agency to determine the proper method of disposal.

Is NO RUST™ harmful if ingested?

Yes, NO RUST™ contains industrial grade chemicals and medical attention should be sought immediately if ingested.

Is NO RUST™ harmful if in contact with food and potable water?

Yes, NO RUST™ shouldn’t be placed in contact with foods or human water supply.

How does NO RUST™ need to be stored?

It’s best to store NO RUST™ out of direct sunlight at room temperature. Do not allow to freeze and avoid extreme temperatures variations.

Can I put a powder coat over NO RUST™ ?

Powder coating is not typically applied over any primer coating, but instead the same is applied over bare metal. As NO RUST™ is a reactive Primer we do not recommend using a powder coating over NO RUST™.
